What excites you about SKEW? What do you envision for this magazine?
SKEW grew out of my desire to fill a hole I saw with friends and family in the way we talked about pop culture. This magazine came about through more than a year of planning and and trying and failing and continually trying again. So knowing how far we've come, I'm thrilled about the talented and diverse team we now have. I'm thrilled about the way our team is giving voice to new and bold and powerful ideas.

So what pop culture do you follow? Why?
I follow way too much TV. Most recently, I've been watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Good Place, Riverdale, American Crime Story, How To Get Away With Murder, 9-1-1, and One Day at a Time. I'm obsessed with everything Ryan Murphy touches, and I'm a big fan of soapy dramas and comedies that make you think.

Celebrity crush?
I'm very comfortable admitting that I've cried on more than one occasion thinking about how pretty Justin Bieber is. Also, like the rest of Gay Twitter, I'm very into Antoni from Queer Eye right now.

What are your words to live by?
My friend Jason always tells me, "You can't help others if you're dead." Basically, helping others is important, but taking care of yourself has to come first. As someone who's definitely felt burnt out in the past over activism work, self-care has become practically a discipline for me.
