SKEW 03 Open Call Extended
The deadline for artist submissions to SKEW 03 has been extended to Friday August 20, 2021.
As a reminder, the 2021 SKEW Editorial Team invites Black artists across the globe to submit your work for publication in our annual print magazine, or on our forthcoming SKEW // Digital Hub. For full details, please visit https://levelground.co/skew-3.
Selected contributors will be compensated and will receive a small profit share contingent on sales of the magazine.
We encourage you to submit work that speaks to this year’s editorial theme, “Black Abundance.” A celebration of Blackness as an extravaganza of/in Black beings, expressions and revolutions. Ideas for submission can reflect and ruminate on the concept of Black Abundance and beyond.
We are especially eager to receive work from Black queer and trans artists across the diaspora. SKEW is committed to actively showcasing underrepresented talent
For the print magazine, we are accepting both written submissions (essays, thought pieces, poetry, etc.) as well as high quality images of visual art and photography. For the digital hub, we are accepting high-quality images, video, and writing submissions.

ABOUT SKEW MAGAZINE
SKEW is an experimental art and dialogue magazine produced annually by Level Ground. From poetry to artwork to photography to essays and more, SKEW features exciting, thought-provoking new work from members of the Level Ground Collective and other artists selected by each issue’s curatorial team.
SKEW began in 2018 as a digital monthly zine/blog conceived and led by Collective artist Donald Scherschligt. We launched the inaugural print edition of SKEW at the opening night party of our seventh annual Festival.
The second issue of SKEW featured the contributions of over 50 Black artists, futurists, healers, conjurers, and abolitionists around the curatorial theme Black Dreams, Futures & Mutual Support.
For the first time in Level Ground history, issue 02 of SKEW was cooperatively owned by the curators, designer, and contributing artists. This means that 100% of SKEW sales go directly to support the more than 50 Black artists who make up this year's SKEW community. Click here to explore last year’s issue and buy a copy!
