VISION

Level Ground projects take risks to expand genre in service of social change.
Notable films include UNION (2024) which won a Special Jury award for the Art of Change at the Sundance Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Oscars, and FRAMING AGNES (2022) which won the NEXT Innovator Award and Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival and the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Documentary.
Both Level Ground Productions and the Collective reflect shared values, including a commitment to experimentation and collaboration.

VALUES

In this economic and political climate, we aim to leverage the access and resources we can collectively gain, and redistribute them to filmmakers and communities often pushed to the periphery.

We believe that the way a project gets made is just as – if not more – important as the project itself. We work to prioritize the mental, physical, and financial health of our teams, and foster affirming and accessible sets.

Our projects center the voices, perspectives, health, and sustainability of those most necessary to the story. We believe that the story being told in front of the camera should be reflected in decisions made behind the camera.

We believe documentary films can play an important role in social and political change. We support films that spark dialogue between the people who make them, fund them, and watch them in service of collective transformation.
