The Untitled Body Project

Asking questions about how society has shaped our relationship to our bodies, 2018 Level Ground Resident Artist Rae Threat utilizes groundbreaking 3D photography techniques to capture portraits of sex workers, adult film actors, and body positivity activists. #TheUntitledBodyProject was a fully immersive multimedia art show, displaying Rae’s 3D portraits at larger-than-life scale via LED panels, a centralized video installation on multiple monitors, and large-scale printed portrait suspensions.

The show opened on October 19, 2018 at Unit C, an art gallery in East LA and featured a live music performance, a panel conversation with several of the Untitled models, and a short documentary composed of interviews with individuals of different shapes, sizes, genders, and identities discussing issues of body positivity and acceptance.
