Submissions for SKEW 04: Black Embodiment are open today!
The 2022 SKEW Editorial Team invites Black artists across the globe to submit your work for publication in our annual print magazine, or on our forthcoming SKEW // Digital Hub.
Selected contributors for the print magazine will be granted a $100 stipend, and will receive a small profit share contingent on sales of the magazine.
We encourage you to submit work that speaks to this year’s editorial theme, “Black Embodiment” in all its expansiveness.
We are especially eager to receive work from Black queer and trans artists across the diaspora.
For the print magazine, we are accepting both written submissions (essays, thought pieces, poetry, etc.) as well as high quality images of visual art and photography. For the digital hub, we are accepting high-quality images, video, and writing submissions.
Pieces must be complete and ready for print/publication upon submission. Please email SKEWEIC@levelground.co with any questions regarding submission.

ABOUT SKEW MAGAZINE
SKEW is an experimental art and dialogue magazine produced annually by Level Ground. From poetry to artwork to photography to essays and more, SKEW features exciting, thought-provoking new work from members of the Level Ground Collective and other artists selected by each issue’s curatorial team.
SKEW began in 2018 as a digital monthly zine/blog conceived and led by Collective artist Donald Scherschligt. We launched the inaugural print edition of SKEW at the opening night party of our seventh annual Festival.
The second issue of SKEW, Black Dreams, Futures & Mutual Support., and the third issue, Black Abundance featured the combined contributions of over 80 artists, futurists, healers, conjurers, and abolitionists.
In continuation of a precedent set with issue 02, each issue of SKEW is cooperatively owned by the curators, designer, and contributing artists that create it. This means that 100% of SKEW sales go directly to support the Black artists who make up the SKEW community. Click here to explore last year’s issue and buy a copy!
